1928 Daily Morning Prayer

Welcome to the officially unofficial website of the 1928 Daily Morning Prayer PodCast. Thank you for taking the time to stop by. My name is Fr. Ian Emile Dunn and I am the assistant priest at Saint Matthew’s Anglican Church in Weaverville, North Carolina.

I was excited when I found out Fr. Zolner wanted a replacement for this podcast. The Morning Office has long held a special place in my heart. One early morning in college I wandered into the daily time of Morning Prayer with our Anglican chaplain. I immediately knew I was home. There has always been something special about the breadth and movements of morning prayer that provides me with comfort. I hope that each and every listener will feel equally blessed by this ministry.

I hold a B.S. from Hillsdale College and an S.T.B. from Logos House of Theological Studies. I was ordained to the priesthood in July of 2013 in Portland, Maine and served as a minister at St. Thomas Church in Ellsworth, Maine from 2010 to 2014 before my secular job required him to relocate to Sacramento, CA, where I served as Assistant Priest through September of 2016. I joined the staff at St. Matthew’s in October of 2016.In addition to my work at St. Matthew’s, I write, including this blog and writing for tech and biotech companies. I enjoy hiking, reading, writing, cycling, and current events.

I am planning on adding a weekly meditation on the collect for the week as well as a meditation for each holy day of obligation. I hope this is a blessing to all who read it.
